This is a book I am definitely glad I picked up. It's the prefect light, funny, and sexy read that I can stand behind.I will say, at first, I was a little apprehensive. The quintessential rich business man and the secretary trope almost made me roll my eyes. Almost. This is most certainly not the cliche' that I usually come across. Axel isn't the usual closed-off, rich, playboy you find in books. He ends up being a very laid back successful businessman. He  is sweet when it's warranted. He is closed off in the right places. He is all around a character that I loved.Vi is the perfect match for Axel. She is funny and quirky. And yes, a klutz. An extreme klutz. Her klutiness is what makes her such a wonderful character.I really enjoyed this book. From the warm and fuzzies, to the laughs, to the happily ever after. This story kept me entertained from start to finish.
The story it self is really a great concept, but when you throw in things like getting your "garden watered" for having sex more than once it starts being overs the top and way too corny!I don't know who edited the book, but maybe a better editor to be frank and honest with the author about the book or the author just didn't listen. Either way it misses the mark!Axel & Vi also have a conversation about her nipples at Christmas (the very first time she meets his parents) in front of them out loud. Who does that?When they end up at his penthouse and enter it apparently they magically get from the door to his bed with no explanation in the book how this happens.Maybe better betas would help catch these items also.
Cute love story about Vi (Violet) and Axel. Poor Vi can't go a single day without injuring herself. She was a klutz as a child, and she's still a klutz as an adult!Alex is the CEO of his own company and he takes his job very seriously. When Vi is transferred from LA to NY as his temporary PA she's dreading the 8 weeks she has to spend there in the cold. It doesn't take Axel long to realize Vi needs a keeper! She's detrimental to her own health ... but she brings a smile to his face again and again.I enjoyed this book and I would have given it a full 5 stars if the ending hadn't been rushed. An epilogue giving the reader a peek into their future would have popped this up to a full 5 star rating from me!
An enjoyable, swift read! This laugh out loud rom-com is a must in your personal library to lighten your day or mood! Great for a summer beach read or soaking in the tub read; all that matters, is that this feel good novel is what we all yearn to read.I enjoyed the heroine with her flippant, sassy, quirkiness, her main flaw a klutz; while adding the laughter to the book some “accidents†seem a bit much for me. Please, don’t get me wrong my house is full of klutzes so I have seen with my own eyes the level of epic clumsiness that can truly occur! If, you ignore some of the methods of her klutziness, then it’s an adorable trait too!The main man brings suit wearing to a level of must have hotness 😉 that we all crave! I love his dedication to his job, and his ability to try-so-hard not to love or like his temp assistance. The development of their attraction is natural, it is not rushed and that makes this novel a bit more realistic. I did enjoy this book overall and will recommend to others for a light feel good book. Oh, and the last scene is down-right hilarious.
Violet is a combination of a klutz the likes of which you have never seen and a freespirit who would rather be doing anything else but the PA job that she is being paid to do. Her life takes a drastic turn when she is assigned to temporarily fill in for the CEO’s PA in NY.Axel appears to be a serious no nonsense boss but even he can’t help but be amused at her antics. Although she may not be the most dedicated worker she is certainly entertaining and she allows him to show his humorous side. All good things must end or do they have to?This book is hilarious and will have you laughing out loud. Violet is over the top but that just makes her more fun especially when she comes up against her stern boss. The next book in this series can’t come soon enough.
This was a wonderfully entertaining piece of escapism...a fresh approach with so much humour and situational comedy...Violet is the quirky, hapless heroine... she is a girl next door type, who dreams of a perfect man and whose hair frizzes in the rain...I love her and all the catastrophes that befall her...seriously she is a walking disaster..... the story is told from her perspective and her thoughts and asides all contribute to the lighthearted narrative..The story is fast paced, and a relatively drama free zone.... I particularly loved the author confessions at the start of each chapter; they were so funny, relatable and original.This is an unputdownable read... it made me smile, grin, giggle, laugh out loud, and snort .... what better recommendation is there than that.... I received a copy of this book through the Quirky Blind Date with a Book
4.5 Stars for this hilariously funny read! I absolutely adored Violet. She was quirky, fun and completely unpredictable! A complete indulgence to lose yourself in!Violet is endearing. She's a disaster waiting to happen at any given moment. The things that come out of her mouth will leave you laughing out loud. You just never know what's going to happen next.A new job brings her her new boss and he's HOT! She's sent to temporarily fill in for a colleague in NY as a PA to the boss. He's more reserved and isn't quite sure what to make of Violet at first. She constantly keeps him guessing!These two are just the perfect match. Axel is attracted to Violet and can no longer hold back. Good thing it's completely mutual. When they decide to cross the line and become more than employee-employer, it's electric! A super hot and sexy read that will leave you smiling. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author.
