This book is great the illustrations are absolutely beautiful you can use your imagination and bring your creativity to life, The illustrator did stunningly gorgeous women to color I highly recommend purchasing. The only con is the paper is thin and I don’t recommend using wet mediums... But the illustrations are so pretty I don’t mind as much about the paper quality I just use color pencils. Don’t hesitate to buy this book and all the others with this Illustrator.
I just started coloring so I’ve been using Crayola Colored pencils on the generic books you find on the shelf at your local dollar domain, so I’m not an expert but; I love this book. I have Adult ADD and needed a new “stimming ritual†because scrolling on my phone for hours is making me blind and I need a repetitive activity to help wind down at the end of the day. I HATE those silly “quotes†and the oh so tedious “mandala†and a “whole page full of crammed-in nonsense “adult booksâ€, so I was glad to stumble upon these as a practical and useful method to wind down, and hone my skills in other areas without having to start a large project that I’ll never finish. (And that’s if I can even get through the “preparation and materials gathering stage)I’ve been struggling with trying to paint/ draw/ color people to create realism and depth so this book is perfect. A lot of the models have different expressions, and are drawn from different angles so there’s a lot of potential for shadow and contour practices. I haven’t completed a page yet because I just ordered the “Prismacolor Portraits†pencil set, and am waiting for it to arrive. I will update this review upon completion. I did however order 3 more of Rachel Mintz coloring books to add to my ever growing collection. :)
Good book. Another with too much black going on within the picture. Takes away from creative choice. But a good book to use as practice if you are learning and honing your skin tones and realism.
